Christmas trees and plans for a quilt

Chalford Stitchers contributed to the Christmas tree festival at St Laurence Church in Stroud, again. We made three trees, or rather helped with the making. Janet did the bulk of the hard work. A Very Successful Morning

We had a very successful coffee morning last weekend. There weren’t as many visitors as we had hoped for [there was a lot going on elsewhere that day] but those who did come were very generous. Altogether we raised £600 to split between the refuge and the Nelson Trust. The raffle and the bag tombola were both popular, and easy to do. The cushions sold well, and the cakes too. Refugee news

Earlier in the year we made cushions and quilts for some of the Syrian refugee families who are moving into Stroud District. These were much appreciated by the three families who moved into the area in the summer of 2016. This week we donated another three quilts to the Stroud and District Furniture bank.
