We had a productive monthly Wednesday making wonky houses recently. I’m annoyed I don’t have any photos of the blocks we made. We can keep making these blocks, cut to 12 ½ inches square, and will then make them up into as many quilts as we can. So keep stitching, folks.
We have dates for monthly Wednesdays after Easter: April 20th, May 11th and June 22nd. As we have a show coming up in the Autumn (confirmed as October 15th and 16th) we could usefully spend one or more of these days making cushions and bags for raffles/tombolas at the show, especially as we have HEAPS of furnishing fabric that needs using up.
The other thing we have decided about the show is our Challenge. Carol has donated lots of plain calico bags. The idea is that anyone who wants to should take a bag to decorate, however they like, but on the broad theme of Home. These bags will be displayed at the show then donated to the Refuge Aid shop in Stroud to sell. The theme of Home works well as two of the organisations we support are the Stroud Women’s Refuge and Refugee Aid Stroud – and as our group of stitchers are blessed with warm, dry safe homes ourselves.
