Interesting exhibition in Norfolk

In December I visited a textile/quilting exhibition at the Time and Tide venue in Great Yarmouth called Frayed: Textiles on the Edge. It is still on (until  2 March 2014).  To quote the blurb, “This new exhibition of historic and contemporary textiles examines individual self expression and issues about personal well being through stitch.”

It was small, but very interesting. There was a fabric ‘tapestry’ showing the D-day landings, and some bed hangings which are the subject of an article in the Winter 2013 issue of The Quilter. I took some photos of both, plus of other things. Flash wasn’t allowed (though my flash went off by mistake once, when photographing the bed hangings) so the images are not 100% clear.

And if you happen to go to  Great Yarmouth I can thoroughly recommend the cafe at Time and Tide. Really delicious food, served with care.
