Monmouth and peg loom weaving were key topics at yesterday’s meeting.
Avril is going to organise a group trip to Monmouth (in June?) to visit a fabric shop or two, and maybe the museum. We could have lunch out – or a picnic. Ideally we would hire a minibus, but this is expensive if we need to pay a driver. However there may be a solution. Watch this space.
Kath brought in her peg loom and gave a demonstration using variegated wool. Changing colours by changing wools leaves lots of hanging threads to deal with, as in knitting. Variegated wool gets round this. One question was what to make using the loom, apart from cat blankets. Suggestions would be welcomed.
