The group’s growing!

We had our biggest ever attendance at Thursday’s meeting: 14 of us. And not everyone on the books was there. The village hall was buzzing with talk about our various projects. The group has become very lively recently, thanks a lot to our new members, and a lot of enthusiasm for learning new skills from each other. Crochet is a great favourite at the moment. As is making children’s quilts for the refuge. Three of us have taken on the idea of making framed picture quilts then taken that idea in very different directions.

A creative way to use a fabric with cats – there wasn't much of it but this way there is enough for a whole quilt.

Another way of using an animal fabric, stretching a small scrap to make enough for a whole quilt (when the blocks are joined together).

A 'picture wall' quilt in progress. The theme is 'creatures that fly'.
