Christmas trees and plans for a quilt

Chalford Stitchers contributed to the Christmas tree festival at St Laurence Church in Stroud, again. We made three trees, or rather helped with the making. Janet did the bulk of the hard work. Each one was different, and each one was lovely in its own way.

Now the festival is over we are going to offer one of the trees to the Refuge and one to the Refugee Aid Shop in Stroud. The third is going to Janet’s daughter.

Other news is that we are embarking on a group quilt. For any who want to make a block the requirements are:

  • It can be any design
  • It should measure 12 ½ inches square
  • It is in colours as close as possible to the Indian print fabric we are using on the back
  • OPTIONAL. You can, if you want, use a bit of the fabric in your block

Don’t rely on the colours in this photo. You can have a real scrap of fabric to take home for matching purposes.
